Consignment

There are 3 ways to consign at Trends: (1) Schedule an Appointment, (2) Schedule a Porch Pick Up or (3) Drop & Dash. When you schedule a consignment appointment you have the option to pick up any unaccepted pieces. When you drop & dash, any unaccepted pieces will automatically be donated. 

At this time all pieces will be processed after 72 hours. You will receive an email once your items have been processed.

:: Trends asks that all clothing is brought in cleaned, wrinkle free, and on hangers. How you bring them to us is how we put them out on the floor. 

:: Shoes, purses, and accessories can be brought in a simple laundry basket or tote bag. The more organized your items come in, the quicker the whole drop off process will go! 

:: Want to consign jewelry? We simply ask that you bring us your shiny gems in a little bag of its own. Putting them in separate zip locks to prevent tangles will help us price your jewelry much quicker.

:: Beautiful clothing stuffed in garbage bags just makes us sad. No matter how gorgeous your items are, if they are not in salable condition when they come in, we unfortunately have to return them to you or donate them. 

:: Trends accepts brand-name/designer women’s clothing, shoes, purses/handbags, jewelry, and accessories that have been sold in stores within the last 2 years. 

:: BRANDS WE LOVE:: Anthropologie, Nike, Coach, J Crew, Eileen Fisher, Lululemon, Madewell, Zara, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and many others!

:: We DO NOT accept vintage clothing/accessories – we adore the vintage look, but it’s just not our market. Items must be in style and sold in stores within the last 2 years.

:: We DO NOT accept replicas or knock-offs of designer items. Ever. If you are unsure of the authenticity of a piece, please be honest. We would be happy to determine the authenticity for you.  Trends uses a technology based authentication service to determine if items are authentic. 

:: BRANDS WE DO NOT ACCEPT:: Gap, Old Navy, New York & Co, Dress Barn, Aeropostale, Casual Corner, Walmart, K-Mart Brands, Target, Kohl’s , JC Penney, Sears, Payless, Forever 21, H&M

:: We also rarely take “basic” pieces – ie plain black pants/slacks, white button down shirts, bootcut jeans etc. They are much harder for us to sell!

:: We simply cannot take every item a consignor brings in.  It doesn’t mean we don’t think you are fashionable or that your items don’t have value.

:: Reasons we may pass on pieces:: damage, seasonal, not a best seller, we have too many similar styles.

:: We strive to provide a wide range of colors, sizes, and styles to our diverse customer base but, unfortunately, have limited space to display pieces.

:: Please call the store or email us for exact dates of season changes, as what we are accepting is typically dependent on the weather. To stay on top of all our season changes and see what's selling best, join our email list. Text TRENDSOP to 22828 to join.

:: Consignors receive 50% of the final selling price. 

:: Our consignment experts are very skilled at pricing your clothing and accessories so that they will sell. Item price is based on condition, style, and resale value. 

:: We sell your items in store, on our website, on social media, and other various platforms to ensure that your pieces get the most exposure and you get the best resale value.


:: Once we set an item’s price, It will remain at the original price for three weeks before markdowns begin. After 3 weeks your items will be marked down 20%. After 6 weeks, your items will be marked down 40% and will remain there for the rest of the consignment period. 

:: Consignment items go through an automatic 20% markdown every three weeks it remains unsold. Your items will go through two markdown periods before the end of the consignment period. A total of 40% markdown will be applied to the initial price if the piece is unsold after 6 weeks. 

:: Consignors will receive 50% of the final selling price.

:: All Trends consignors are given their own online account. Your account is updated daily.  You can check your account to track your sold inventory and see your account balance.  The online account is available to consignors 24/7 on our  consignor login page.

Trends consignors receive 50% of the final selling price of their item. 

:: Store credit - You may use your balance for store credit at any time. Hooray for FREE clothes! 

:: Request a check – which you can do via phone, email or just stop by the store and pick up a check anytime your account reaches over $25. Checks can also be mailed out for a .75 cent mailing fee.

:: Consignors have up to one year to request a check for their balance. After one year, the balance can only be used at store credit.

:: Trends will NOT call or email you when your items sell. You must monitor your online account or inquire with the store directly. Likewise, checks will not automatically be mailed to you. You must contact the store (or stop by) and specifically request a check. We can print them on the spot! 

Trends’ consignment period is 60 days. 

:: After your 60-day consignment period ends, items become the property of Trends. These items may be donated to local charities in the form of physical clothing and accessories or re-sold for monetary donations.

:: Trends charitable work includes but is not limited to, the following charities: Economy Shop | HOPE Inc. | Epilepsy Foundation | AMVETS | Animal Care League | Sarah’s Inn | Bridge Communities | Grace House |Hurricane Relief – Red Cross.

:: Any item that was initially priced at $50.00 or above may be picked up at the end of its consignment period. Consignors have 10 days after their consignment period to request a pick up of unsold designer items. We just ask for 48 hour notice to have the items ready for you.

Brick & Mortar Shopping

:: Trends marks down clothing and accessories every three weeks. Trends does not negotiate prices. Pieces move very quickly – so if you love an item, act FAST – it won’t be here tomorrow!

:: Items with a purchase price over $150 may be put on layaway for a period not to exceed 30 days.  We require a down payment of 50% of the purchase price. The remaining balance can be paid anytime within the 30-days. 

:: Layaways are non-refundable

:: Trends merchandise goes in and out daily! Every day is a new shopping experience. We add an average of 200 new items into inventory PER DAY. Shop often for the best deals!

Of course! If you are unsatisfied for any reason, you can bring your items back within 24 hours for a full refund – not store credit – a full refund! Of course, the item must be in the same condition it was when it left Trends with tags still on and we need your receipt.

Shipping policy

:: We can ship anywhere in the US for a flat rate of $7.99. Spend over $100 and your shipping is free! 

:: Once you place your order it will typically take 48 hours for us to gather your pieces and prep them for travel.

:: From there it usually takes 3-5 business days to ship. We ship through USPS tracking information is provided.

Returns and exchanges

:: IN STORE purchases must be returned within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund.

:: ONLINE ORDERS must be returned within 10 days for a full refund.

:: We ask that you send the item back within the 10 day return period to our brick & mortar store. As much as we'd love to cover everyone's return shipping costs, as a small business we haven't reached that goal yet.
